General Contractor in Hollywood, FL

Hollywood is where we are based, so this is the building department we know best. The city was founded in the 1920s, and it shows: older homes near downtown and the beach sit a few miles from much newer neighborhoods to the west, and the beachfront is lined with condo buildings that are now reaching inspection age.

What to know before you build or remodel in Hollywood

  • Permits come from the City of Hollywood's building department, under Broward County's countywide rules. We pull them and schedule every inspection.
  • High-Velocity Hurricane Zone. Hollywood is in Broward, so windows, doors and roofing must be approved for HVHZ use.
  • Historic review. Hollywood has a Historic Preservation Board, and properties in the city's designated historic areas need its review for exterior changes.
  • Older homes. Houses from the city's early decades often hide old wiring, cast-iron drains and weak roof connections. We plan for them with allowances, not surprises.
  • Condo buildings. Beachfront and Intracoastal condos face the state milestone inspection and Broward's 25-year building safety inspection, and the concrete repairs that follow.

What we do most in Hollywood

Whole-home renovations of older houses, kitchen and bathroom remodels, additions on larger lots, impact windows, and concrete restoration for condo buildings. When a house is past saving, our demolition division takes it down and we build the new one, all under one Hollywood-based company. Our guide to renovating an older Hollywood home covers the permits, historic districts and what we find behind the walls.

FAQ

Hollywood: common questions

Are you actually based in Hollywood?

Yes. Rosemont Ventures Group LLC is based in Hollywood, Florida, and both our construction and demolition divisions work out of the city.

Do I need a permit to remodel my kitchen in Hollywood?

If you move plumbing, add circuits, change walls or add ventilation, yes. Replacing cabinets and counters in the same layout usually does not. We confirm with the City of Hollywood and pull the permits.
